Lavender and Peppermint in BlendsUpdated 8 months ago

The peppermint and lavender that we use in our blends is only in dried form and is used in very minimal amounts. It is the concentrated essential oil or the herbs in large doses that can be toxic to cats.

There are many herbs and other substances that humans and animals ingest on a daily basis that would be considered toxic in large doses. The principle that the dose makes it toxic is paramount. It means that all chemicals, from whatever source – human manufacture or natural – are potentially toxic at some dose. The ASPCA even lists catnip as potentially toxic to cats, because it can cause vomiting and diarrhea, but only if they were to ingest a large amount.

Of course, we suggest moderation in everything, which includes the herbs in all of our blends. Small nibbles and sniffs won't hurt your cat considering how little peppermint and lavender are in our blends.
